2Why do I need a US address?
Many US retailers only ship within the United States. Your personal US address allows you to shop from any US store as if you lived there. We receive your purchases and hold them for you until you're ready to ship them to Jamaica.
3How are shipping costs calculated?
The cost of shipping packages are calculated based primarily on the weight for air and dimensions for sea shipments. The final cost is also affected by the type of items, the service level you choose (basic or express), and your delivery address in Jamaica.
4Are there any hidden fees?
We believe in transparency. Our shipping quote includes processing and international freight. The fees that are separate and paid later are: ** Jamaican Import Duties and Taxes (GCT):** These are government charges, not set by us. We pay them on your behalf and invoice you for the exact amount. Optional Insurance: For an extra fee to fully cover your shipment's value. Storage Fees: Only if your packages stay in our local warehouse beyond our free storage period.
5What items can I not ship to Jamaica?
For safety and legal reasons, we cannot ship items including (but not limited to): Firearms, ammunition, and weapons of any kind. Narcotics, illegal drugs, and drug paraphernalia. Perishable foods, plants, and animals. Hazardous materials (e.g., batteries, aerosols, flammable liquids, paint). Currency (cash, money orders). Pornographic material. Any item prohibited by Jamaican law.
6How do duties and taxes work?
The Jamaica Customs Agency charges import duties and General Consumption Tax (GCT) on most items entering the country. The amount is based on the type of item, its value, and its country of origin. As the importer, you are responsible for these fees. We handle the paperwork and pay the fees upfront to clear your shipment, and then we invoice you for reimbursement.
7How can I track my shipment?
You can track your package every step of the way through your online account! You'll see status updates when we receive it in the US, when it departs, when it arrives in Jamaica, clears customs, and is out for delivery.
8Can you combine all my packages into one box?
Absolutely! We highly recommend package consolidation to save you money on shipping. We will carefully combine your items from multiple boxes into one single shipment, which reduces the overall dimensional weight cost. A small consolidation fee may apply.
9What happens if my package is lost or damaged?
Please see our full Terms of Service for details. In short: Our basic liability is limited. We strongly recommend purchasing optional insurance at the time of shipment for full coverage. Any claim must be filed in writing through your account within 3 days of delivery.
10Should I have the retailer use special packaging?
While not required, we recommend asking retailers to use sturdy boxes and ample padding. We also offer a repacking service (for a fee) to ensure your items are secure for their international journey if the original packaging is insufficient.
