1. Overview
This Shipping Policy outlines the specific procedures, pricing, and guidelines for using the freight forwarding and courier services provided by KalibGO Courier (“we,” “us,” “our”) for shipments from the United States to Jamaica. This policy is an integral part of our Terms of Service. By using our services, you agree to this policy.
2. Our Process: Step-by-Step
- Sign Up & Get Your US Address: Create an account on our website. You will be assigned a unique US shipping address at our warehouse facility in Florida.
- Shop Online: Use your assigned US address and unique client code as the “ship to” address when shopping on US websites like Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc.
- Receive Your Packages: We will receive, log, and securely store your packages at our US warehouse.
- Create a Shipment: Once all your packages have arrived or you are ready to ship, log into your account to declare your items, consolidate packages if necessary, and request a shipping quote.
- Pay Invoice: Review and pay the invoice for shipping costs, insurance (if purchased), and any applicable handling fees.
- We Ship to Jamaica: We handle all the logistics, including customs documentation and arranging air or sea freight to Jamaica.
- Clear Customs & Deliver: Our team in Jamaica clears your package through customs. You will be invoiced for any duties and taxes (GCT) levied by Jamaican authorities. Once paid, your shipment is delivered to your doorstep in Jamaica.
3. Shipping Rates & Quotes
- Quotes: Shipping quotes are provided based on the dimensional weight (L x W x H / 166) or the actual weight of your package, whichever is greater.
- What’s Included: Our quote typically includes US warehouse handling, international freight, basic carrier liability (see Terms of Service), and customs brokerage assistance.
- What’s NOT Included: The quote does not include:
- Jamaican import duties and General Consumption Tax (GCT).
- Optional insurance.
- Special handling fees (e.g., for oversized items, repacking).
- Storage fees beyond the free period.
- Factors Affecting Cost: Final cost is determined by: box size/weight, destination in Jamaica, service level (e.g., express vs. economy), and current fuel surcharges.
4. Packaging & Consolidation
- Original Packaging: We accept shipments in their original merchant packaging. However, we strongly advise that merchants use sturdy boxes and adequate padding.
- Consolidation: To save on shipping costs, we can combine multiple packages into one box.
- You must request consolidation in your shipment instructions.
- We will remove excess packaging to reduce volumetric weight.
- A small consolidation fee may apply.
- Repacking: We reserve the right to repack any item we deem poorly packaged or unsafe for international transit. A repacking fee will apply.
5. Storage Policy
- Free Storage: We do not offer free storage for packages at our US warehouse, packages will be forwared to Jamaica on the next available shipping date from the date of receipt.
- Long-Term Storage: Packages exceeding the 30-day free period will incur a storage fee of J$ 650. This fee will be applied on the 1st of the following month.
- Abandoned Packages: Packages may be considered abandoned if unclaimed 60 days after being recieved at out US warehouse. An attempt will be made to contact the client prior to the packages being disposed, donated or auctioned at our discretion.
6. Prohibited & Restricted Items

- DO NOT SHIP: Weapons, ammunition, explosives, narcotics, flammable items, perishable foods, live animals, currency, counterfeit goods, and any item illegal to import into Jamaica.
- RESTRICTED (Require Pre-Approval): Alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, medications, used electronics, used clothing, and high-value items like jewelry. Shipping these without approval may result in seizure by customs.
7. Customs & Duties in Jamaica
- As the importer of record, you are 100% responsible for all duties, taxes, and fees levied by the Jamaica Customs Agency.
- We act as your customs broker to facilitate the clearance process.
- We will pay these fees on your behalf to clear your shipment and will invoice you for the exact amount plus a brokerage fee before final delivery.
- Duty rates are set by the Jamaican government and are based on the type of item, its value, and country of origin.
8. Delivery in Jamaica
- Delivery Time: Transit times are estimates only. Typical shipping times from our US warehouse to your Jamaican address are between 1-2 business day(s) for air freight and 1-2 week(s) for sea freight, excluding time for customs clearance.
- Delivery Areas: We deliver to all 14 parishes in Jamaica, however delivery to some regions are free, while we enlist the services of third-parties for other regions; contact us for more information.
- Address Details: You must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, including parish, street name, and landmarks if possible.
- Re-Delivery: If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful because no one was available or the address was incorrect, a re-delivery fee will apply for subsequent attempts.
9. Tracking
You can track your shipment’s status through your online account. Tracking updates will include:
- Package received at US warehouse.
- Shipment processed and departed the USA.
- Arrived in Jamaica and cleared customs.
- Out for delivery.
- Scheduled delivery
- Delivered.
10. Claims & Liability
Please refer to our Terms of Service for full details on our limited liability and the claims process. In short:
- Our basic liability is limited to $100 per shipment or $20/kg.
- Optional insurance is available for purchase at the time of creating your shipment.
- All claims must be filed in writing within 3 days of final delivery.
